Huejoner operates through camera-based color recognition, analyzing the visible spectrum captured by your device lens in real-time. Each day at midnight, the system assigns a target hue from the 360-degree color wheel. Your objective is to locate that precise color in physical objects, surfaces, or scenes around you.
The matching engine calculates the percentage similarity between the camera input and the target hue. A score of 70% qualifies as a successful capture, while achieving 95% or higher earns the Dead Eye achievement. This precision threshold ensures players develop genuine color perception skills rather than relying on approximate matches.
Between 8 PM and 6 AM, the game shifts to night hunt mode, introducing six rotating phantom colors unavailable during daylight hours. These rare hues encourage evening exploration and reward players who engage with the game across different times of day, adding temporal variety to the core loop.
